I came up with Bri’s GF Goodies after moving to the Kaiserslautern Military Community from Portland, Oregon (the “alternative” capital of the world — alternative lifestyles, alternative music, and most of all, alternative food). I found it difficult to shop and cook for my son and myself in Germany since we require foods that are gluten free, casein free, soy free, corn free, and low in refined sugar and simple starches. The available alternatives are usually full of dairy and/or laden with corn syrup, sugar, and inexpensive starches that do little for the body other than to spike blood sugar, add empty carbs, and bind up digestion. What’s a mama with multiple food sensitivities to do? The answer: ship my favorite ingredients to Germany, and start cookin’.
As my social circle broadened, I realized that other folks were in need of healthy, gluten free goodies as well. Thanks to the encouragement of some great friends I decided to open my kitchen to everyone and created a very small, family-run baking operation called Bri’s GF Goodies.
My son and I enjoyed making and distributing Bri’s GF Goodies, but to be honest, the pace of baking and filling orders got to be too much for us to handle. It was cutting into my family time and the time I needed to devote to writing my book and to developing and teaching FemFusion group fitness classes.
So for now, Bri’s GF Goodies has been put on hold.
But wait! There’s great news.
