My daily love practice is simple. It takes 10 seconds tops, and honestly, this teeny-tiny little gesture of affection changes my entire day (in a good way).

I know sometimes you might read things on blogs and think, “Does she (or he) really do that? I mean, come on… Really? Or is this all for show?”

The answer is that YES, I really do this daily love practice. Every time I dry off after my shower I write little love notes to myself on at least one body part using a roller-ball bottle of blended essential oils. It’s either a heart over my belly (I do this especially when I’m feeling PMS-ish), or an affirmation of love on my arm, or a sweet message on an area that I’m not so fond of. The oil dries almost instantly, and the message quickly disappears, but I know it’s there… My daily love practice is my little self-care secret that I carry with me all day long.

In the photos below, I show examples of daily love messages I have written in the past. Of course, essential oils don’t show up on camera, so I used a marker to indicate what I write, and where.

(No, I don’t promote writing on yourself with markers… This is just for demonstration purposes. I’m doin’ it for you, people… I’m doin’ it for you.)

My Daily Love Practice | FemFusion Fitness

You don’t always have to be all “sunshine and rainbows,” just be loving and compassionate to yourself. Once I wrote a daily love message on my belly that said:

it’s okay to be sad

And another time I wrote:

it will get better

The main purpose of my daily love practice is to give myself a “double boost” of joy via a positive message that’s JUST FOR ME, and also via the aromatherapeutic benefits of essential oils.

I have several different roller-ball bottle blends. I keep them in my bathroom cupboard and choose my blend based on my mood, energy level, etc.

Want to do it too?

To make a customized roller bottle blend, purchase new glass roller-ball bottles (10 ml) at a craft store or online, add up to 20 drops of essential oil(s) of choice, and fill the rest of the way with a “carrier oil” such as fractionated coconut oil.

You can use any essential oil that appeals to you, but if you want to get a little wild and crazy and “magic potion” making, here are three blends I’ve been LOVING:

  • This blend is pre-made! Simply add 20 drops of Whisper women’s blend (made by doTerra) and then fill the roller bottle up the rest of the way with fractionated coconut oil. I love doTerra’s Whisper blend; it’s rich, warm, a little bit sweet, a little bit spicy, and it makes me feel sexy. In addition to using it as a “daily love” roller-ball blend, I also like wearing it around my neck in a diffuser necklace such as this one (which I have and love).
  • An uplifting and invigorating blend is 10 drops bergamot + 6 drops wild orange + 4 drops lime (and then fill the roller bottle up the rest of the way with fractionated coconut oil).
  • A calming and balancing blend I adore is 10 drops lavender + 5 drops lemon + 5 drops rosemary (and then fill the roller bottle up the rest of the way with fractionated coconut oil).

Note three things: 1) Watch for skin issues/sensitivity… Everyone is different, and not every oil is for every person! 2) Essential oils are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition, and 3) If you’d like to learn more about any of the essential oils listed above, you can take a look at my personal doTerra Wellness Advocate website. I’m GIVING AWAY two customized “daily love” roller-ball blends (I’ll mail them to you) plus a few samples of my favorite essential oils for flavoring water.
